Our plan is to be open every weekend regardless of show schedule but that depends on the reliability of outside help. As a family run business days and hours are subject to change. My husband and I are traveling a lot out of cell phone and computer range so I may not be able to answer calls or e-mails every day. Please be patient, I will get back to you.

Call (209)823-5863 to confirm the week's schedule

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

It is sometimes difficult for customers to understand that not every rabbit is for sale.  The rabbits for sale are clearly marked as is the earliest date that it may leave the Mother. Please do not request an early release date for babies or ask us to sell our pets.

A WORD ABOUT  BUNNIES:  Remember that a rabbit is a commitment of time and love for 8 to 10 years, not just for a season.   If you or your child has wanted one for a long while and spring seems the time to get one, fine but remember you will still need to care for it in hot summer months and cold winter nights.  Bear in mind the expense of proper housing and where you will keep it safe from high heat and blowing rain.

Please take a moment to review my pages on housing before making your decision.

LILAC # 10 on the Rare Breed List  ALBC Watch List with an estimated less than 2,000 animals world wide. Once bred primarily as a commercial meat rabbit, these have become one of the scarcest breeds in the U.S.  These rabbits are not only lovely in appearance but in temperament as well.  They weigh 5-1/2 to 8 pounds.  Since they only come in one color it takes little cages space to raise them for show.  Very good natured and they make excellent Mothers.  If you want an uncommon bunny as a pet or show bunny, this is the perfect rabbit. Photos don't do these rabbits justice. DSC01013.JPG (354280 bytes) Must see in person.

If you are looking for a 4H project that not many kids have, these are the ticket.  Very sweet, good Mothers and fabulous pets.  I can put together unrelated pairs or trios.

The Field Guide to Rabbits by Samantha Johnson

DSC01003.JPG (339901 bytes)

$19.95 + tax

BACK IN STOCK!! - It has been a big hit! -

This is the most exciting book on rabbits I have seen in years.  It is not only beautifully produced but well researched and full of valuable information for pet owners, rescues, pet stores, breeders, 4H and FFA members.

Topics include history, nostalgia, fur varieties, color descriptions with full color photos, descriptions of the various shapes of rabbits, weight ranges of the various breeds,  recognizing illness, bunny behavior, house rabbits, show rabbits, rabbits having babies, Breed profiles of the 47  breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder's Association as well some of the breeds under development.  Each Breed profile includes recognized colors, weights, American Livestock Breed's Conservancy status for rare and endangered breeds.  Truly a fine piece of work.  Well written, concise yet fully detailed.  Kudos' to the author for a fine job on a huge undertaking!
